Each 30cm (18") ComboRay unit is basically composed of the following components: (a) 6x relaceable LED on 2.5cm x 2.5cm MCPCB, (b) one circuit board (PCB) with power and signal layout, (c) aluminum heat sink with pre-drilled screw holes, (d) tempered glass, and (e) 2x aluminum side covers. The ComboRay unit can be mass-produced efficiently due to its simple design. Users can easily replace of the LED by loosing and re-tightening the screws. A ComboRay unit can be used as the main light source for tanks with shorter width (<30cm) and depth (<45cm). For wider tanks, the light spread can be extended by combining multiple units. With regard to big tanks which are longer and higher, ComboRay can serve as functional light source, such as supplementary or actinic light to fulfill the demands of better hue and full spectrum.
There are currently seven types of LEDs of various colors, which are 400nm Near-UV, 420nm Violet, 450nm Royal blue, 470nm Blue, 500nm Cyan, Cool White, and Neutral White. One should have noticed that 420nm Violet and 500nm Cyan are the two colors which are not included in the Blaze series products. With the addition of Violet and Cyan LEDs, a full spectrum light source can then be achieved. Trust me! You will never be disappointed with this new product.
We are glad to announce the latest product manufactured by Illumagic team. The new product is called ComboRay series. The name ComboRay is a complex combined by Combo and Ray. Combo means combination, and Ray means light. As you can see from the figures below, the ComboRay series has the feature that units can be combined together through using a specially designed aluminum track. Users can either enlongate or widen the light spread by assembling multiple units easily with the kits. This makes the ComboRay a great choice for either nano or big tanks. You can certainly use them as main light source for nano tanks or supplemental light source for big ones.
Another special feature of ComboRay series is its ability to rotate in different angles. Why is this feature so important? Imagining that you have a none-LED main light source, such as metal halide fixtures. LEDs are always the best options to serve as the actinic light source due to the narrow bandwidth of the spectrum distribution, which can bring out the colors of corals much more efficiently than that a actinic T5 lamp can do. However, due to the limited light angle of LED fixture, the actinic light can not well mix with the main light source and thus results in a uneven light color in the tank. By using the multi-function mounting stands specially designed by Illumagic team, users can easily rotate the our ComboRay units to any angle to access the best light mixing condition with the main light source. With the U-shape aluminum tracks, users can accommodate a shorter light fixtures to tanks with longer length.
More about the ComboRay series will be published later. You will see how interesting this new design can be. Just keep following us for the new product information!
