LED light maybe the feasible light source to make indoor growth of Succulents possible in the near future.
NKAC (北高雄水族) have been selling Blaze series in their four branch stores for more than one year. They are quite satisfied with the quality as well as the brightness of Blaze series. Blaze series is now the top grade LED lighting fixture among all the products on the shelf. NKAC 鳳山 branch is now being redecorated. They chose Blaze M-60S units as the main lighting sources for their ten main display tanks of various themes. Now, all of the four brach stores are stocking the more affordable ComboRay series products. 永大 branch is the first store to set up the exclusive display shelf for the ComboRay series. The store manager A-wan (阿萬) in the photo is a big supporter of Illumagic. He is now testing one ComboRay CR-30 on a freshwater plant tank. To investigate the reaction of plants to different light spectra, he asked for some free LED boards of various colors for the test. And now he seems to have his own secret recipe of the optimum light arrangement for different plants. Illumagic appreciate the supports and efforts from all our distributors and resellers in Taiwan and the other oversea markets. If you are willing to become one of us, please send us an email. If you have any great idea to demonstrate and/or promote Illumagic range in your store, please let us know. We are more than happy to offer the best price for you if we think your display project is great!
The left photo shows a gorgeous shelf demonstration of ComboRay series products and accessories in the (竹北) branch of the famous ASP (旭海水族). We are really impressed with the passion and efforts of all the staffs trying to make Illumagic products the visual focus in the store. They not only stock a considerable quantity of units in all sizes, but also display all the accessories on the shelf. One should also see a complete unit installed with LEDs of 8 kinds of spectra and color temperatures, and with/without optical lenses. The rainbow like color distribution in this demo unit certainly attracted customers' eyes when they walked into the store. In our opinion, ComboRay should be sold as a high-end level of lighting products with appropriate demonstration just like ASP did in their store. ASP is very happy with the profit margin of the ComboRay range. After giving the staffs a detailed course of introducing the design concepts and features of ComboRay series products, they are now more confident to promote our products to their customers!
No.1 Easy Assembly
ComboRay series is an innovative lighting product formally released by Illumagic in 2013. It is designed to fulfill the demands of those who tend to build their own LED lighting system. With the plug & socket connecting system, you do not have to worry about their soldering skill. No LEDs will be burned during their installation on the fixture. It is a quality product but with DIY feel.
No.2 Replaceable LEDs and optics
To build your own LED lights, having enough LED options in colors or spectra is certainly the most essential and important concerns. ComboRay series currently have 8 kinds of LEDs with their spectra ranging from 400nm to 700nm. For single colored LEDs, we have 400nm Near UV, 420nm Violet, 450nm Royal blue, 470nm Blue, 500nm Cyan, and also the 650nm Red. For white colored LEDs, there are 7,000K Cool white and 4,000K Neutral white. These spectra and color temperatures can almost fulfill any light demands of various types of aquariums keeping with freshwater plants or saltwater corals. With the 450nm Royal blue and 650nm Red, you can even use a ComboRay unit to build a grow light for vegetables or other terrigenous plants. ComboRay series also provides 90 and 60 degree optical lenses. You can choose to install either of them on the LEDs to get a more concentrated light spread and better light penetration.
With the featured replaceable LEDs, users can choose to upgrade their lights when there are new LEDs of better efficiency being released. For example, a LED with efficiency of 200 lumen per watt may be released soon in the near future. You do not have to purchase a new light equipped with the latest LEDs to replace the ComboRay units. What you should do is to purchase these latest LED boards from us, and install them on the old units, and you will get a completely upgraded unit with better efficiency and higher lumen output. This is definitely a more economical way to save your budget when a brighter light is required for a deeper or bigger tank.
We are quite sure that not so many LED lights of DIY feel like ComboRay series provide users the controllable function to dim the light intensity. We recently released the IR remote system which is also a optional accessory for ComboRay series. The remote system is composed of one IR sensor module and one remote. Each ComboRay unit contains two independent channels. Channel 1 refers to the LEDs on the odd positions of the main circuit board while channel 2 refers to those on the even positions. When LEDs of two different colors are installed on the two channels, for example, cool white LEDs on channel 1 and Royal blue on channel 2, one can dim the lights in 10 steps with the remote to adjust the color temperature as well as the total brightness. Unlike the traditional switch, our IR remote system can automatically save the settings when the power is off. With the remote, users can easily dim the white light to enjoy the scene under pure blue light.
No.5 No-boundary applications
By installing different LEDs on the two main circuit boards in the fixture, one ComboRay unit can become two light sources to offer different light spectra. This is what we called "No-boundary" applications for ComboRay series products. This concept fully takes the advantages of replaceable LED design. You do not need to purchase two lights to keep two tanks. Just buy the LEDs of the colors required and install them separately at two parts of the ComboRay unit and you get two lights for two applications. Interesting and Innovative concept, isn't it?
The two photos above show the same tank under two different Illumagic lighting products. The tank owner is Matt Green, who is an experienced reef keeper from Australia who has some beautiful LPS corals in his 2ft tank. He had a Blaze series, M-60S on his tank (left photo), and he was trying to compare the ComboRay with the Blaze to see what difference a ComboRay unit can bring to his tank. The right photo shows the same tank under a ComboRay CR-60 unit. The LEDs installed from left end to right end are UV/Violet/Royal blue/UV/Cool white/Blue/Royal blue/Cool white/UV/Royal blue/Violet/Blue. As one can see from the two photos, the color tones of the tank are quite different. For that under a M-60S unit, the tank is more bright and the red color seems to be more pronounced. For that under the CR-60 unit with those LEDs installed, due to the dominant wavelengths ranging from 400nm-500nm, the light demonstrated a significant actinic effect on the corals and thus brought out more details. The condition of the corals under two lights all look good. It is not easy to judge which one is better. For those LPS corals, we believe that they will survive and grow for a long time under the CR-60. In our opinion, the completeness of light spectrum plays a more important role than the brightness.
